Install DaqSense on Windows

Download and open the 64-bit .msi installer.
Follow the installer, then launch DaqSense from the Start menu.
If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears, confirm the installer came from this official download page before choosing More info and Run anyway.

Install DaqSense on Linux

Use the AppImage for a portable install, the .deb package for Debian, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint, or the .rpm package for Fedora, RHEL, or openSUSE.

Install the Debian package

From the folder containing the download, run:

# Intel/AMD Linux
sudo apt install ./DaqSense_0.3.3_amd64.deb

# Raspberry Pi / ARM64 Linux
sudo apt install ./DaqSense_0.3.3_arm64.deb

For an AppImage, mark the file as executable before opening it.

Allow serial-port access

First check whether your account already belongs to the dialout group:

id -nG

If dialout is missing, run:

sudo usermod -aG dialout "$USER"

Log out completely and log back in, or restart the computer, before connecting your device.

Launch DaqSense as your normal user. Do not use sudo daqsense; user services cannot connect correctly when the desktop app is run with sudo.

Device not appearing?

If DaqSense cannot see your Arduino, ESP32, or USB serial device, confirm that the operating system created a port before reinstalling the app.
