Privacy Policy
This policy explains how DaqSense collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website, download the desktop app, contact support, or use DaqSense preview builds.
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Local-first workstation
DaqSense is designed so captured serial data, raw logs, parsed CSV exports, profiles, settings, calibration rules, device identities, and local app data stay on your workstation by default.
No account required
The current desktop preview does not require a cloud account, and normal capture workflows do not upload lab or bench data to DaqSense.
Support is your choice
If you email us logs, samples, screenshots, or other files for help, we use them to respond, troubleshoot, improve the product, and maintain our records.
No ad data sales
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change is released.
Who We Are
DaqSense is operated from Ontario, Canada. In this policy, "DaqSense," "we," "us," and "our" refer to DaqSense. You can contact us at support@daqsense.com.
What This Policy Covers
This policy covers the DaqSense website, product downloads, email/support interactions, preview releases, and any paid licensing or support workflows we make available. It does not cover third-party websites or services that we do not control, even if we link to them.
Information We Collect
Website and download information
What it may include: Pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, browser or device type, referring page, timestamps, release downloads, and basic server/security logs.
How we use it: Operate the website, protect it from abuse, understand product interest, and provide downloads.
Contact and support information
What it may include: Name, email address, organization, message contents, attachments, support files, screenshots, sample serial data, and related correspondence that you choose to send us.
How we use it: Respond to requests, debug issues, improve documentation, evaluate product fit, and maintain support records.
Purchase and licensing information
What it may include: If paid licenses are offered, order details, billing contact, company name, license tier, seats, renewal status, tax information, and payment status. Payment processors should handle full card numbers.
How we use it: Process orders, manage licenses, provide support, meet tax/accounting obligations, and prevent fraud.
Desktop app workstation data
What it may include: Serial device settings, profile names, parser rules, formulas, calibration settings, device identities, flashed sketch records, raw serial logs, parsed CSV files, run folders, and local diagnostic logs.
How we use it: Stored locally so the app can connect to devices, record runs, preserve raw evidence, export CSV files, and restore your workstation configuration.
Future optional telemetry
What it may include: If we add analytics, crash reporting, license activation, or cloud collaboration later, we will update this policy and the product notices before collecting that data.
How we use it: Not collected by the current local-first preview workflow unless a future release clearly adds it.
Local App Data
DaqSense is built as a local workstation. During normal use, your serial streams, raw capture logs, parsed CSV exports, run folders, profile database, calibration settings, flashed sketch records, and workstation settings remain on the computer where you use the app.
The app may create local technical logs, especially in preview or debug builds. Those logs are intended for local troubleshooting. We receive them only if you choose to send them to us.
You are responsible for your own backup, retention, export, deletion, and internal access controls for files stored on your workstation or network drives.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate the website, provide downloads, respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, improve DaqSense, manage product feedback, communicate about releases or security matters, process purchases if paid licenses are offered, comply with legal obligations, and protect DaqSense and our users from abuse or fraud.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share information with service providers that help us host the website, distribute downloads, process email, manage support, process payments, provide analytics if added in the future, or perform security and business operations. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required for legal, accounting, tax, security, dispute, or backup reasons. Local app files remain under your control on your workstation unless you send them to us.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for information we control. No website, email system, or software product can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should avoid sending sensitive bench data unless it is necessary for support.
Your Choices and Rights
You can choose not to send us support files, delete local DaqSense files from your workstation, or stop using the app. You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information we hold about you. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Some privacy laws, including laws in Canada, U.S. states, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, may give you additional rights depending on where you live and how you interact with us. Even where a specific statute does not apply to DaqSense, we will try to handle reasonable privacy requests in a practical and respectful way.
International Processing
DaqSense is operated from Ontario, Canada. Our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Children
DaqSense is intended for engineering, research, lab, and business use. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as DaqSense changes. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where practical, provide additional notice through the website, release notes, or product notices.
